Show Me Love – Comedy Skit

SHOW ME LOVE – A Comedy Short Film by Sinovah Kane

This is a comedy short film. We shot it in a single night at my sister’s apartment. I got the idea from a conversation with my wife in which she told me, lately, I don’t show her enough love. As a joke, I told I should draw a heart on a piece of paper and “show” it to her. My wife thought it was a funny ideas.

I wrote a quick script, out sourced some actors, and “Show Me Love” was born. I would call it run n’ gun per se, but the whole shoot took about four hour. The funniest mishap would have been watching 3 adults trying to get one Playstation or two to work for the opening scene. In the end, we just found a creative way to fake it, lol. Thank God for Youtube and Firesticks.

I directed and shot everything on a Sony A7III and Rokinon Cine DS 35mm with a custom Cine4 picture profile. I don’t have any behind-the-scenes footage, but I will say that A7III and Rokinon glass paired up pretty nicely. Everything was filmed to an Atomos Ninja Flame 4K recorder in ProRes. Finally, I handle all my editing and color grading in Davinci Resolve.

This is my first official short film release. One of many (hopefully). I hope you enjoy it, if not, that’s cool too.
